Well, hopefully they come back up, and if worse comes to worse someone has a current backup so we can start anew.  Depending on what the issue is/was I am looking into getting a dedicated svn host.  This way we get more control, guaranteed uptime, they do backups etc.  Either that or, I host it on my home server and we have full control.  The only time it would go down is if the power went out or my dynamic ip changes and my dns updater takes a few min to kick in.  The downfall of that comes with the fact of I dont have amazing bandwidth so it could be slow. Especially if I am at home doing things on the internet (*cough*torren*cough*ting*cough**cough*) excuse me. Even though when it comes down to it, 95% of things I torrent are legal but it still takes up the bandwidth.

the SVN is still down, but they have a link to twitter, and it seems that their datacenter went down, and not the box is having trouble coming up in one piece

banancanard: you could use your server as a backup svn, for situations like this, but you would have to regular updates,like every hour or so, for it to be absolutely useful, unless there is some way you can get an undelayed auto response when it was updated

Actually paul, that is what I am working on right now.  I am looking at a script that mirrors the svn just in case something like this happens.  I am thinking possibly checking the rss feed for updates which shouldn't be to server intensive and I can do it in just about any language.  This way we will have the backup in case we have another crash.  I will have that backup locked down unless something happens and we cand do updates for over a day then I can open it up and close it once the problems are fixed.  In the mean time This is the info I have from them as of today.



So no worries we just have about a 24 hour wait still before anything comes back up which kind of sucks.  Once they come back up we will get the full scoop on what happened and can move ahead from there.

My cat used to turn off my computer and server at home all the time (sometimes she would turn it back on too).  She liked the light on the switch on the surge protector and would bat at it and turn it on and off. It took me about a month to figure this out.  I finally duct taped it on.  Now it works just fine. lol

I have 3 cats.  One of them is the ADD one, she likes shiny things and repeatedly runs head first into things.  One of them is a spaz/attention whore and is always rubbing on you.  The last one hates the world most of the time and prefers to go sit outside which suddenly makes her very happy and outgoing.  I wouldnt mind a dog, but I am not home enough to take care of one.  Also my house is not that big so a dog wouldnt work out well.

Strange. I have a girlfriend who can do all of those things simultaneously.
