svn build

you can check out a "fixed" version of rev358 with the XaphireClean stuff added and setup as default, plus the quick_search

http://paulwratt.110mb.com/eocms/svn/rev358/

the initial euphoric high of getting the above to work was quashed under a weight of tears as the iinstall failed. I will get to this tomorrow and try for a "clean" build, but most of the issues are in (and with) the theme (and that means all three)..

anyway, go have a play, or see my sig to get the icon pack (579Kb). the build is 2.2Mb

Re: svn build

That is quite impressive.  I really like it.

Edit: Just a thought. As XaphireClean seems to be all javascript based there might need to be some noscript check that would add anchor links possiably.  I noticed this when I was trying it out and forgot to allow it with no script.  Granted that an admin should have javascript enabled on his own site and they can always use another admin theme. I just felt like being picky =p

Re: svn build

i have had a look at this and i think it looks really good but if u go on to the options say of smiles then the links say to edit the homepage go really small so this could be better if it was abit bigger

Re: svn build

, its not "finished" yet, but I had to do "something" for a submenu, so atm it uses the main "admin center" text, and does not show the "current sub page" (which is already being detected)

you have to remember that whatever is SVN may or may not be finished, in this case, if you have read or seen the SVN change messages, you would have seen "preliminary" used when refering to "admin menu" and XaphireClean. Not to mention the "no options yet" in multile places too..

it is EXTREMELY time consuming to do just that type of interface, without then trying to integrate in, design the graphics, develop a new -info format, AND add a previously non-existant sub page/menu system

ok, so the text height is set by based on the change in icon size. 128 uses 26pt text. anything below 16 uses 6pts plus the difference between 128 and 16 (12.5% of 128). I did not test the outpu on anything other than FF2 on my PCLinuxOS install, which has larger fonts than "standard" installations (because its design to be used on HUGE screen resolutions)

browser testing is usually the last phase, once code, functionality, and initial layout is set, and is also another time consuming process, especially if you only have one machine with multiple OS's

I was so damn amazed that it worked "1st shot", and it only tooka about another 3 hours to get the submnu to work, and that was "fast" because I had already future proofed the code Smile

BTW its still just a proto-type, check "center.php", its HUGE x 2, and it does not have the placement options yet.. obviously still a lot of work (and now a non-JS version too, which is not so bad, cos then it should work in links/lynx/Arachne web browsers)

Re: svn build

thanks guys, just a shame I could not (find the time to) create the icons as well, maybe later, as the -info format is already set up for other icon sets (including user defined)

some more changes for the -info format, and it should be ready for the functions to be coded, which means working options..

this is a multi-stage process, lots of testing of -info structure, but all the -info files now in the svn have allowed for "better" use of HTML replacement, so coding is not too far away

hopefully every person who wnats to do a -info style addon will be catered for, see "-info structure" elsewhere
