Re: help?

if you are having troubles with things on 110mb, you are a LOT more likely to receive the help you need and are looking for on 110mb as opposed to eocms.com as we are not hosted on 110mb servers.

With this said, you do have to pay for myself access on 110mb.  You can alternatively buy an account from another member who already has bought this upgrade, or use external mysql.  If you do not know what this is google it.

Re: help?

Why don't you just try implementing Google Friend Connect to your own website?  If social networking is what you want.  Friend Connect does the account/profile part for you.  I really don't recommend trying to start something as big as a social network unless you have the proper experience, knowledge and skill.  Not everything will be automatic.  Start small, like with forums or something like that.

I can suggest using Wordpress MU with Buddypress, though.  I think that's one of the best social-networking platforms (or something close to that) you'll find online for free.  And being Wordpress so popular, you'll definitely find lots of resources and support for it.

Just remember that managing an entire community is serious business.  You need to dedicate it a lot of time and attention, and treat your members well, answer their questions, help them with any unexpexted problems that may surge, and so on.

Good luck.

Re: help?

Like I said, you should start small.

Keep managing your small site, keep learning, and when you feel less lost and confused, then maybe you're ready for more complicated things.

If you really need to get that website up ASAP, then try to get assistance from an experienced person, or hire one if you are that serious.  Also, there are many places online that allow you to setup your own e-store.  Maybe that works for you?  Or use an e-business CMS like ZenCart.  But if that is still too complicated for you, then take my advice and keep learning.  Be patient.
